The craze of active videogames have reached to such  height that people don’t mind sitting on their couches for hours and keep playing video games. Among these active video games, Wii Fit is a popular device. However, GameStop thought that the game needed even more publicity and they found a better way to convince people to buy the game. The store employees were dressed up in cheap fat suits and were made to wear t-shirts that warned against the evils of being a lard-ass.

An official press release from GameStop stated that this was a way to remind people of sticking to their New Year resolutions of not gaining weight and become a fatso. Instead, they should try out the active videogames like Wii Fit to remain fit and maintain good health and figure. This probably seemed to be a good idea to promote the game.
